NYC Compost

One of the things I miss the most about New York, strangely, is their city-supported composting. They made it almost effortless; just put all your organic waste into a provided bin next to your trash and recycling. We kept our small bin in the freezer and dumped the "food-cicle" out when we took out the trash. The outside bin had a sealing lid to keep the lovely smells contained. This process, paired with a great recycling program, drastically reduced the amount of regular trash we put out...unfortunately it's not this easy in most cities.
